How to accept and complete alcohol deliveries and deliver them on DoorDash
When a DoorDash order contains alcohol, the app will notify you before you accept it by showing Contains alcohol above the deliver-by time. Make sure to have your ID ready to present to the merchant, if needed, when picking up the order.
Note: Alcohol delivery is restricted to drivers aged 21 and older in the United States, and 18 and older in other countries.
Drop Off Instructions
Alcohol orders will include instructions to either scan the customer’s ID or match the customer to a provided photo. DoorDash will indicate in the app which method is required before you reach the door. The app will display either Scan the customer’s ID before handing over any items or Verify the customer’s identity at drop-off.

How To Verify The Customer’s Identity At Drop Off
For orders where you are asked to verify the customer’s identity at drop-off, you just need to confirm that the customer receiving the order is the same person shown in the photo presented in your Dasher app. The company has already verified that they are 21+ and has blurred out their private information on their ID for safety. Once you have successfully done this, your order is complete.
How To Scan Customers ID
For orders where you are asked to scan a customer’s ID before handing over any items, you can either scan the barcode on the back of the ID or enter the details manually in the app. You must also confirm that the customer matches the photo on the ID presented. Once this is complete, you may proceed with the delivery.
