What’s The Difference Between Shopping And Driving With Shipt?
Shipt shoppers go into a store location to shop or pick up items for a customer’s order. They will then leave the store to deliver the order directly to the customer within an hour-long delivery window.
A Shipt driver goes to a designated Target pick-up location to load packages into their car. They will then drop off each package at its delivery location along an optimized but customizable route that could take few hours to complete.

Shipt Shopper/Driver Sign Up Process
1. Simple questions, short answers
Ship will ask you to submit a few short answers to simple questions. This will allow the company to see how are with problem-solving, communication, and decision making.
2. Take the spotlight
For this step Shipt will have you submit video responses so they can get to know your communication skills and familiarity with apps.
3. Your signature, please
This is where you will sign the Shipt Shopper agreement. This agreement outlines ground rules on how to find success as an independent contracture with Shipt.
4. Get approved and start shopping
Once everything is complete Shipt’s recruiting team will reach out to you within a few days or a few weeks. Once you are approved you can download the app and start shopping.

A Shipt shopper shops for and delivers groceries and other items to Ship member from local stores.
How Shipt Works For Shoppers
- As a shopper you will set scheduled hours and your desired region for delivery.
- There is no minimum or maximum number of hours you must work.
- When you receive an order request on the it will show you an estimated payout and a description of the order.
- After you’ve accepted an order the shopper’s app will navigate you to the store. Where you will shop for listed items in the app.
- The app will show you details of the order. It will also allow you to contact the customer if you should have any problems
- Once you’ve shopper the order you will pay for it with a prepaid Shipt card.
- Next the app will navigate you to the customers address to drop off the order.

Requirements To Become A Shipt Shopper
- You must be 18 years or older.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with one year of license experience.
- Access to a vehicle 1997 or newer that you are insured to driver.
- Your name does not need to be on the vehicle registration.
- Insulated cooler bag – Shipt does not provide one.
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be familiar with produce and groceries.
- iPhone (iOS 10 or newer) or Android (5.1 or newer) smartphone.
- Undergo a background check.
