Alcohol delivery is available at many Walmart locations throughout the US. Depending on your location, you may receive offers for orders containing alcohol on the Spark Driver app.

Customers Eligible to Receive Alcohol Deliveries
Customers must be at least 21 years old to receive an order containing alcohol. They also need to show a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID to their driver to confirm they are at least 21 years old at the time of delivery.
Valid Forms of ID Accepted
- Government issued.
- Include a photo that matches the customer.
- List the customer’s date of birth.
- Are not expired.
Note: If the customer is underage or provides an expired ID, the app will display an order return to help you return the items to the store.

Confirming the Validity of a Customer’s ID
Spark drivers are required to confirm the customer is legally of age and able to accept an alcohol delivery. Customers must remove their valid photo ID from wallets, purses, etc., so it may be scanned by the Spark Driver app.
Helpful Information on Confirming Legitimacy of Customer IDs
- Legitimate ID cards have smooth, uniform edges, while fake ID cards often have uneven edges and may have bumpy surfaces or glue marks.
- There can be visual differences between the customer and the individual in the photo, but facial features like eye shape and color, nose and ear shape, or any special facial features like birthmarks or scars should be the same.
- Physical characteristics such as weight, hair, and makeup change over time and do not require intense scrutiny.
How to Scan A Customers ID
- Confirm the default ID selection on the screen (usually Driver’s License) and tap Submit to activate the camera.
- Turn up your phone’s screen brightness to help the camera lens focus.
- Turn on the camera flashlight within the app if you are delivering at night or in low light.
- Postion the camera over the barcode located on the back of the customer’s driver’s license.
- Hold your phone close to the ID, then slowly pull the phone backward until the camera captures the barcode clearly.
Note: “If you’re having trouble scanning the ID, the information can be manually entered by pressing the keyboard icon in the top-right corner of the app. Passports and Military ID information cannot be scanned and must be entered manually

What to Do If a Customer Appears Intoxicated?
State laws require that alcohol delivery recipients are not intoxicated upon delivery. Do not hand over alcohol orders to customers exhibiting any of the signs below.
- Physical signs of intoxication, including glossy or bloodshot eyes.
- Slurred speech or louder than normal tone.
- Smell of alcohol on the customer’s breath or clothing.
- Impaired motor function and movement.
Locations Alcohol Shouldn’t Be Delivered
- Public or private elementary schools (k-12).
- College campuses, including fraternities and dormitories.
- Government buildings, such as the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
- Retail Locations like grocery stores, gas stations, or convenience stores.
- Hospitals, medical centers, or clinics.
