How Does Uber Work For Riders?

  1. Open up the app and log in.
  2. Enter your destination in the Where to? box.
  3. Choose the type of vehicle you want.
  4. Review the ride options, including price, estimated drop-off time, and vehicle size.
  5. Select your preferred option and confirm your pickup location.
  6. Wait for a drive to accept your request.
  7. Check the estimated time of arrival (ETA) for your driver.
  8. Track your driver’s location on the in-app map.
  9. When your drive is close, you’ll receive a notification.
  10. Verify your names and destination with your driver.
  11. The driver will start the ride.
  12. Enter your destination in the app before or during your ride.
  13. When you arrive at your destination, your trip ends.
  14. Your fare will be automatically charged to the payment method you linked to your account.
  15. Tip and rate your driver from 1 to 5 starts.

What Is Uber One?

It’s a subscription option that gives customers access to benefits such as savings on rides and orders. The monthly memberships is available for $9.99 and annual memberships at $99.99.

Members of the subscription program will receive a $0 delivery fee on eligible restaurant orders over $15 and grocery orders over $30. Members also receive 5% off eligible orders for restaurants, alcohol, and other stores marked with the Uber One icon. With the Uber One Promise on eligible deliveries, subscribers will receive $5 in Uber Cash if their Latest Arrival estimate (shown after you place your order) is wrong.

Members also get most rides at a 5% discount. The 5% discount will not apply to shared rides or rides booked 30 minutes or more in advance.
