What Is the inDrive App?

inDrive is an international ride-hailing service that is available in 45 countries. What makes inDrive unique from other ride-hailing companies is that they allow riders to set the price they are willing to pay for the ride. They also give drivers the option to make a counteroffer to the price before they accept the trip.

How Does inDrive App Work for Riders?

Enter your pickup and drop-off locations.
Enter the fare you are willing to pay.
Choose your driver with the best offer.

Pros of the inDrive App for Riders

You can propose and negotiate the ride fare directly with the driver, which often results in prices that are 10–40% cheaper than other rideshare services.
Because fares are negotiated peer-to-peer, you are exempt from algorithmic surge pricing during peak hours.
Customers can see a list of available drivers, their ratings, and proposed counteroffers, which provides more choice and flexibility regarding price and arrival times.

Cons of the inDrive App for Riders

Finding a driver may take longer due to a low fare or fewer active drivers nearby.
Some users report encountering older or poorly maintained vehicles that do not meet the stricter fleet standards of other apps.
The app typically lacks features like scheduled reservations, multiple-stop additions, or mid-trip destinations.

Final Thoughts

The inDrive offers a highly compelling alternative to traditional ridesharing apps by putting financial control back into the hands of the rider. Its unique bid-based model successfully eliminates the frustration of unpredictable surge pricing, making it an excellent tool for budget-conscious commuters.
